License Terms

1. Scope of the license

The operator grants the visitor a non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license for personal and internal use of the service to the extent necessary for:

  • browsing the website,
  • navigating the graph and text interface,
  • using the interactive functions of the service,
  • making individual reasonable quotations with attribution,
  • storing ordinary technical copies generated when displaying content.

This license does not extend to uses going beyond ordinary use of the service unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. What is permitted without further consent

Without prior specific consent, users may:

  • link to public pages of the service,
  • quote reasonable portions of the content in accordance with the law and with attribution,
  • create individual screenshots or interface excerpts for non-commercial purposes, commentary, review or expert discussion, provided that this does not amount to systematic substitution of the service or infringement of third-party rights.

3. What this license does not include

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, this license does not include the right to:

  • systematically extract database content,
  • bulk download records, relations, metadata or other parts of the service,
  • create derivative databases, indexes, catalogs or other secondary data products based on the service content,
  • use the content or data to operate a competing or substitute service,
  • commercially redistribute, sell, sublicense or otherwise make available the content or substantial parts of it,
  • use automated means for ongoing synchronization of the content.

4. Public, internal and special regimes

Specific parts of the service may be subject to a different licensing regime. The operator may designate selected datasets, exports or contributions as:

  • public,
  • restricted internal,
  • special partner or commercial license.

Such specific designation takes precedence over these general license terms.

5. User contributions

If a user submits text, a change proposal, a comment, an offer, a provider description or any other content to the service, the user represents that they are entitled to provide that content to the extent necessary for its publication and further processing within the service.

By submitting such content, the user grants the operator a non-exclusive, territorially unlimited and perpetual license to use it to the extent necessary for:

  • publication,
  • moderation,
  • archiving,
  • technical processing,
  • indexing,
  • translation,
  • display in different interface layers,
  • inclusion in exports, database versions and related operational outputs.

This does not affect the user’s authorship where relevant by the nature of the contribution.

6. Reservation of rights

All rights not expressly granted by these terms remain reserved to the operator or the relevant rights holders.

7. Contact for licensing requests

Requests for an extended license, partnership, data export or other use of content may be sent using the contact details on the Contact page.
